The support forum is built with (1) a Q&A format for common trading queries received from wannabe and experienced traders, and (2) a standard forum for course video topics. How to Trade Price Action and How to Trade Forex Price Action videos are consolidated into common forums.
Use topic header to identify video number (and Main/Forex course as needed) you are referring to.
It would be great for us to have a discord channel where we can discuss things that are relatively live. I'm just floating ideas here.
I am in a 0dte discord channel and it was super helpful to see others in the same boat as me discussing what works and what doesn't.
Thanks Huey. Yes, I can well understand the value of such services and looking into similar. Will check out Discord which is new to me.
It's free to set up a server and invite people to join. People only pay for things like badges, custom images, emojis, etc
This is my first ever post and the reason that I am posting is to support the idea of the discord channel. It is one of the best learning experiences for communicating ideas in current time, and it is very easy.
Also here just to say that discord would be very nice. Give some students a place to chat about their ideas, review each other's trades and learn together.
I am also very supportive of this idea!
There used to be a Slack group, but it wasn't very busy. It would definitely be good to get something like this going again.... Since Al is only doing the trading room 2 days a week a slack or discord group might be more popular so that we can help and support each other.
Discord would be great!
There is a Discord channel which has now been classified as official for BTC members. Maybe Richard will be able to help here. I tried opening the link to share here but seems like the link expired, not sure what happened there.
Not to sound like a killjoy though, in all honesty, would having a Discord channel be really helpful? We have the support forum here where the big guys(there are a quite a few of them) answer the questions when inadequately answered by relatively beginner members(someone like me).
In all honesty, if you don't have someone like them looking over the content you're discussing, odds are you'll be discussing technically inaccurate stuff which is a grave mistake you shouldn't be committing. BTC is a highly technical course and you need to make sure you're getting your stuff right which doesn't happen without proper overlooking by these big guys.
Over and above that, most serious traders would refrain from discussions on a forum during live trading hours. So, my humble opinion - instead of creating another place for discussions where not so tech savvy people like me would feel lost, why not keep all the resources for future reference purpose at one place(that is this forum)?
That way we all can learn from everyone's experiences and doubts.
I consigne what Abir is saying.
I agree, questions relating to BTC should be left here in this forum, that being said I would also join a discord server dedicated to the teachings of Al Brooks and the members of the course.
Would have to be careful as to keep the discord private to members of the course only, and to make sure no one is divulging course information in the discord. In those senses, it may just be best to keep discussion here on this forum. The admins here do great and we do not need anything else. If anyone wants to start a personal discord to just talk price action, and he al brooks method they can create their own. If so, send me an invite! Id love to talk about it
There should be a discord channel. Although BTC is incredibly technical there is a lot of opportunity to discuss his material real time with other traders. Also, there is lacking the shared resources like code for Al's setup in tradestation, other platforms, etc...
If you have a discord server you could receive input real time about your analysis of chart and discuss with others. I wouldn't expect someone to post numerous screenshots of their analysis on these forums expecting a response to each one. The activity on these forums demonstrates that.
At the end of the day it is better than nothing.
I agree!
I'm in a trading Discord channel and it's great. To the ones who don't know Discord, it's like an evolved chatting service.
If I can be of any help, let me know.
I love Al's technique and a Discord to share with others who are on the same path would be great!
I agree in theory but the Facebook group had a lot of personal chit chat / negative comments which I didn't enjoy - it was to your point exactly - without the more experienced traders clearing up the confusion it was all subjective advice without clear trading-edge probability/risk / reward / trade-off parameters... ie opening breakout, but it failed, what are the options... Al doesn't base his trades on feelings unless he has some clear procedure which has a profitable traders equation first... having said that, Discord is great for live chat if there is a way they can keep the standard high!
A discord would be great. I am in one but the group trades volume profile. They do have multiple channels for different aspects of trading from theory to charting to computer setups which is helpful but everyone is focused on volume profile and the DOM. It would be easy enough to set up separate channels for different topics and even have a hang out spot for chit chat.
