bit confusing; if a body is half of the size of the candle it can be considered both or just one of both accordingly? does it depend on a context?

A doji is with respect to itself (body/wick) size AND with respect to local bars. However, everything should be classified into bull/bear or doji. 90%+ of the time it is not too difficult and yes, context (the bars on the left) matter.
