How is this measured move calculated to take profit? Is it just taking the move that failed to break above the prior high and adding that move down?

Pretty much... I'm fairly new to this, but I happened to re-watch this video the other day and took notes. The MM target is based on the height from the Double-Top to the neckline of the range and then same height is projected to the downside. He chose to use the lower top of the DT because I recall him saying he starts with the more conservative MM target and if market moves beyond the initial MM target and has potential to move more in that direction, then he'll use other MM targets (in this case the higher top in Double Top).

Could be wrong, but there are many measured moves that we could anticipate for ... if we find a strong area that prices pushed through it would try to double the distance and more ...
