I don't understand the point of discussing gaps given the broad definition of gaps. Even Al says they're meaningless. What am I missing about this discussion? TK
Gaps are very important as they can lead to Measuring Gaps (MG, middle of a Measured Move) or Exhaustion Gaps (EG, gap will close).
Al uses gaps intensively.
If there is a breakout bar(s) Al will determine if it's early or late in the trend.
If early, the breakout is more likely to become a MG, if late then EG is more likely.
Many more context nuances important here.
A leg which looks like a leg in a TR but contains 1-2 gaps can actually be one of the strongest type of trends, a small PB trend, and last much longer.
Micro gaps (gap between L of this bar and H of 2 bars before in BL) indicate trend getting stronger.
So recognizing gaps is very important. All this information can be found in the Course section Fundamentals/Gaps.
