Hy Katherine,
I think it is because a Channel down is a Bull Flag and a channel up is a bear flag. A bull channel is usually breaking out to the downside and a bear channel is usually breakoing out to the upside.
If you take this channels in context to a DT or DB, it will look like this.
You can think like it how a bull channel acts in a bear trend. The bull channel is called a bear flag because of the Bear BO and the BR trend continuation. If you delete the Trend (BO´s) and only see the Bull channel, this bull channel has the same energy like in the bear trend.
Thats why it is called a DT Bear flag.
In the books he is using the DT bear flag & DB bull flag as trend continuation setups.
Hope this helps you.
Best regards.
Hy,
Is it a bull flag because followed by bull trend?
Yes thats what i wanted to say.
A DT or DB is always a trading Range.
I do Not really know if al means that the Bars before the DB Are the tight trading Range or if he means that the DB is the tight trading Range.
There is another possibility, what might be a Solution it is a Bit more complex but it is logic for me, it is a DB Bull Flag because of the Spike & Channel Trend, you can See it clean on a lower time Frame but also on 5 min Frame. I do Not know if you familiar with the Spike & Channel Trend .
here i tried to Mark it up from the tablet.
hopefully it makes Sense for you. If Not feel free to ask.
Best regards.
Julian,
Finally clear.
Thank you!!
