Market Overview: NASDAQ 100 E-mini Futures
The NASDAQ E-mini futures December 2025 monthly bar is a bear doji inside bar.
The week is a bear bar, continuing the sideways move of the last couple of months.
The quarter is a small bull bar with prominent tails. The September monthly report had mentioned that the quarterly chart is a surprise for the Q3 bar and that there will likely be a small second leg up. What that means is that if the current quarter is a bear bar or triggers the prior quarter low, there will likely be at least another bull bar after that to represent the 2nd leg up.
The year closed as an outside bull bar with a good body, but with a long tail below, and a prominent tail above. The tail below represents the sell-off in Feb-April. The strong bull body is bullish. Bears were hoping for a doji bar that would allow them a sideways to down move over the next several years. The strong bull body makes it likely that a bull buying the close should be able to exit breakeven even if next year is a bear bar.

The Monthly NASDAQ chart

- The December month bar is a doji bear inside bar.
- Prior reports have mentioned that there will likely be profit-taking/sideways price action after the measured-move bull targets were met on the monthly chart.
- The last couple of months are likely to be that.
- Bulls need next month to be a good bull bar closing above the October close, so they can show the market is ready for the next leg up.
- Bears want next month to not have a close higher than the October close, so they can show that the market is in a sideways to down move.
The Weekly NASDAQ chart

- This is a short week that marked the end of the month, quarter, and year.
- The week is a bear bar, continuing the sideways move of November and December.
- The market is in a breakout mode. Bulls want a good buy signal bar at the exponential moving average (EMA), while bears would like to break strongly below it.
- The market is more bullish than bearish, as bears are unable to produce consecutive bear bars other than during the first leg down in November.
