After the small pullback strong bull trend there was a bear BO. But after 20+ bar above the moving average why any of the MA gap bar did not have test of the high??
According to Al brooks there's 70/75% for a test of high, so sometimes even good looking Bull Ma gap do not lead to a test of the high
Thank you Fred. I have another question related to MA gap bar. for bull MA gap or Bear MA gap we take stop order trade. we often see there are 2-3 MA gap bar & some of the stop order for those MA gap got executed but failed within one or two bar. so what should be the style to trade 20 MA gap bar?
Unfortunately there's no just a single way. It really depends on you, and your trading style ( tight stop, wide stop etc).
What I'd suggest if you intend to trade ema gap bars is to take at least 30ish trades on a sim mode taking screenshots and classifying them based on what type of bar they are (h1,h2 etc), how strong the pullback to the ema is, how the 20+ bars above the ema look like ( small pb trend? climactic? wedge shape etc), what the optimal stop would be etc...... to see if you can find an edge to implement into a trading system
