I'm currently about to start Video 11D, approaching this course with a more methodical approach (mainly annotating the slides in the course, creating flashcards, and looking for examples on live charts). Problem is that if I continue with this approach, it will most likely take me a year to finish. I really want to resume my habit of practicing on sim charts (and possibly taking some live trades too), especially since the biggest weakness in my trading is not having the kind of discretion that only hours spent on the charts can provide. For those of you that have finished the course or are further along than I am, would you recommend focusing solely on finishing it? Or can I start assimilating the concepts I've already covered into my current trading strategy and start practicing again?
Hi Jonathan,
I personally went down the path you're currently on now.
Started the course in 2022 Dec and took me a whole year to finish it. Spent the next year trying to "trade it all" at once. Had to pause and start going deep in to one setup and I'm finally starting to see some tangible results.
Looking back, I still think putting the time in to studying the course thoroughly is important. However I could have avoided wasting the year after by focusing on going deep in to individual strategies sooner.
If you have a quick look at the course content topics, the knowledge related to one topic tends to be scattered through out the course.
E.g.: Knowledge related to MTRs can be found under sections "Support, Resistance, and Basic Patterns" and "Trading Price Action Patterns".
So if you only cover the first section and build a strategy on MTRs, you're gonna miss out on a lot of important details on the strategy in the other section. This doesn't mean you won't be able to trade MTRs. You may just be accepting the risk of not having a comprehensive strategy until you cover most of the course.
Hope this helps.
