This the first example is a better example of a 61.8% retrace. On my screen the measurement top to bottom is 9.5 cm and a 61.8% pullback is 5.87 cm, and the measured distance to the very bottom of the PB is about 6cm +/- 1.5mm. So clearly a better example of a 61.8% fib retrace.

Al thinks the fibs are useless and he therefore does not use them, so he only talks about the 50% PB (which is not a fib).
