Hello everyone,
I'm new here and currently learning the principles of Price Action. I really enjoy it, but I must admit—it’s a lot of knowledge to absorb. I feel that to trade effectively, I need a strategy—something clear that I can follow and stick to.
From what I understand, Price Action itself is a strategy that includes all the topics covered in the course. However, learning all of it, remembering it, and applying it correctly takes time.
That’s why I’d like to ask you—more experienced traders—for advice on how to build a trading system step by step. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I’m rooting for each of you. See you on the charts!
Kris
The first thing you should do is go through the course 1 or 2 times.
Building a system is a trial and error process that is different for every trader. You have to first understand the markets, then understand yourself, and that takes time.
So start with the course, then practice everything you learn and find out what works best for you by tracking your performance.
Thank you very much for your reply. I will do that.
I have one more question — what is the best way to practice?
Demo account?
Maybe there is a good simulator? Perhaps practice on TradingView using the replay mode?
How can I speed up the training process? This really interests me.
Paper trade on TradingView with real market data and try every trading style you learn in the course until you find the one that works best for you. Don't use a simulator or replay mode, it's a waste of time when you're starting, just look at charts and learn to recognize the patterns that Dr Brooks talks about and try to take the setups in real time. One advice I would give you to save you some time is to trust Dr Brooks when he says to stick to the 5 minute timeframe or higher. Going to lower timeframes is exhausting and will only make it harder for you to learn.
Thank you very much for your help 🙂 I’m moving forward! I know what I need to do
Jean-Sebastien, I've been using the TradingView Replay mode in addition to "live" demo trading. I like the fact that I can get through a day's price action quite quickly yet at the same time I am able to pause the replay if I want to think more about the potential impact of a particular bar. For example if I see a bar and think it might be constitute a setup I can pause it and just consider the situation for a moment. In short, I feel it's quite a useful way to practise implementing ideas from the course. So just wondering why you advise not using it? Thanks, Matt
Thank you all for your help.
I would especially like to thank Al Brooks for giving all of us access to his way of seeing the chart. I am incredibly grateful that I can be his student.
I did not give up, and now I see more, understand more, and therefore feel more. The practice of describing the chart is wonderful. Calmness and logic in reading the chart create enormous possibilities.
Now I know that the Price Action method is a complete system — you just need to truly understand it. Every candle has meaning, and the structures they create together have even greater meaning.
Thank you all for walking the same path to the top together and for being people we can rely on.
Good luck, and see you in the market.
Kris
